I hate garbage denim. Thin bullshit pants that fall apart after a couple weeks in the workshop yet still cost $200 from some random fashion retailer are pretty much the epitome of useless in my world. Also, I love the idea of things that are tough enough for the workshop, but look good enough to wear all the time. After wearing out yet another pair of fast fashion garbage jeans in the shed I started looking for something that was cool and wouldn’t fall apart. And then I found the following video:
Sold. Hook, line, & sinker.
If I’m being honest, I thought that video might have been faked, it would be fairly easy to do; high tension cabling welded to the plates running down the interior of the pants would lift that skip bin easily. However, the gimmick got me, what a cool video. I don’t actually care one way or the other if they faked that. I thought I’d give a pair a go and bought their older style of chinos thinking they’d be great for everything.
AND THEY WERE.
I wore those same pants just about every day for two years and they are still going strong. The only reason I don’t still wear them all the time is that I lost some weight and they no longer fit. I gave them to a friend who wears them almost daily as well and they are still going strong. Simply amazing pants that look great. So I bought more; blue jeans, black jeans, shorts, shirts, a big old denim vest… I’ve got a bit of an obsession going actually. If you look back through the last couple years of either of my YouTube channels, I’m almost exclusively wearing Saint pants or shorts. Even in most of the Cool Tool Tuesday videos I did for Timbecon you can see Saint workwear going on.
So. What does all this fanboy gushing really mean to you in the real world? Not much really I suppose. However, if you need pants that are as tough as you are, or if you’re the kinda person that wants to just own one pair of pants for everything for the rest of your life, give these guys a go. I did, and love them.
