Safestyle
From the Worksite To The Weekend
“Who decided that safety eyewear can’t look good? For too long, when it comes to eye protection, safety and style haven’t been in the same sentence. Why is it, when tradies think safety eyewear, they think of nearly every excuse not to wear them? Today, a worrying number of workers are left compromising their own safety by avoiding the very eyewear supposedly meant to protect them. Introducing SAFESTYLE, The first safety glasses that don’t look or feel like ‘safety glasses.’ All the protection, with none of the discomfort. The safety glasses you’ll never want to take off. Look good, feel safe.
Keep safe in style! “
I first became aware of SafeStyle through their Instagram page. I previously had a pair of prescription safety glasses and a pair of regular glasses and was switching back and forth constantly. My journey was rather similar to Tim’s actually, on his website he says,
Before I started SafeStyle, I was a Tradie. I was a qualified Plumber for 8 years, but in May 2017 that’s when everything changed. I was driving home from a job and saw myself in the rear vision mirror wearing my “speed dealers,” and I thought, WOW! I need to find a decent pair of safety glasses. When I realised there was no such thing, I had the crazy idea of inventing the world’s first casual style safety glasses that were certified to Australian Standards.
Luckily for me, when I went looking for a great looking pair of safety glasses Tim had already done all the hard work for me. The only even remotely difficult part was getting an eye test and plugging my information into safestyle’s website. It took longer to decide between the Classics and the Fusions. In hindsight, I probably should have gone with the Fusions as my head is so fat, but I love these glasses nonetheless.
One of the things I love most about SafeStyle is how much they give back to the community. They are a partner for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, they collaborate and donate to Movember, sponsor apprenticeships, and a lot more stuff like that. I love the work they do outside of the work they do. Now, if that last sentence made any sense to you, you win.
Since buying my first pair of glasses, I have also bought a pair of their Blockers for all the time spent in here in front of my computer trying to figure out how to run my burgeoning empire of one. I’ve got plans to get a pair of sunnies made up, probably a pair of Fusions in their new Graphite colour, I think they’ll look pretty cool. Do yourself a favour, go over to their website, and a look around, and if you decide you like the look of anything, use code “DRUMSTUFFGUY10”at checkout to receive 10% off your order. As far as I know, that code should give you a discount on prescription glasses as well.
